May is already behind us and we are heading in the direction of June goals but let me reminisce over the changes that were introduced in the Synerise application last month.

That month was completely dominated by AI. We introduced the changes in the AI Search Engine - our powerful tool that can boost the search results relevancy on websites. This product gained popularity among ecommerce businesses, however, it has proved to be useful also for the websites dedicated to content-related materials such as blogs, documentation, and so on.

There are numerous ways to improve your customers’ experience as well as shorten the path to conversion by a search engine. Starting from the basic search configuration, through synonyms, ending on query rules. Now, users can make use of more options available in the AI Search Engine.

Greater flexibility

The product feed is no longer restricted to the Google feed format. But what does it mean to users? Basically, they can upload plenty of item lists to Catalogs, which are later used as the base of indexes for the search engines. Yes, I used plural form intentionally! The application users can now upload more than one product feed within one business profile, and this means they can configure several search engines within a website. Just to visualize you the opportunities, you can now manage settings of search engines for several different languages of one online shop.

Visual search

Following the latest trends, the AI Search is armed with Visual search. It allows customers to find exactly what they search for by using an image instead of describing the product in the right way. It significantly shortens the path to conversion and improves the customer experience. The Visual search uses the settings configured in the AI Search panel and the users can test it in the Preview section.

Reciprocity of synonyms

Until now, the AI Search engine offered only, so called one-way synonyms. In practice it meant that by defining a “smartphone” as a synonym for a “phone”, the search results for the “phone” included smartphones, but it didn’t work the other way round – the results for the “smartphone” didn’t include “phone”. By introducing two-way synonyms along the one-way, the application users can choose what kind of relation between the synonyms to establish.

Personalized products listing for no search input

If no search input is given, the search engine displays a list of products. The listing can be filtered by any given attribute, included in the items catalog, which means you can create, for example, a list of products filtered to a specific brand and sorted by color and price already waiting and luring the customer.

With these improvements in AI Search, the gates to new possibilities just opened for the Synerise users. And that’s all for now! If you crave for more, you can check out the April product update. Meanwhile, new improvements and features are on the way, so stay tuned and... May the force be with you!
